Obituary of Ruth June Price (nee Playford)

Ruth June Price

June 16, 1924- January 14, 2024

Passed away peacefully on Sunday January 14, 2024 at Parkwood Manor in Waterloo at age 99. Ruth has joined her heavenly Father, united with her beloved husband Bruce, parents Clayton and Ella (nee Robertson) Playford, and brothers Liddell and Robert.

Survived by her son Craig (Denise), grandson Jeremy and great grandson Trystan. Son Joel (Sunny), grandsons Jonathan and Justin. She will be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A globetrotter with an adventurous spirit, Ruth traversed the world alongside her family and friends, leaving footprints on all seven continents, including the icy landscapes of Antarctica. Her love for the outdoors manifested in joyful pursuits such as hiking and canoeing, where she reveled in the beauty of nature. Beyond the thrill of exploration, Ruth found solace and joy in artistic endeavors, from the precision of woodworking to the delicate artistry of knitting. However, it was in the strokes of her paintbrush that her passion truly flourished.

In addition to her vibrant pursuits, Ruth exuded warmth and affection as a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandsons held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Ruth's commitment to her spiritual community was evident through her longstanding membership at Lincoln Road Chapel. Engaged in activities such as Bible study and the Connections Group, she enriched the lives of those around her with her deep faith and a sense of belonging. Ruth's journey was one of exploration, creativity, and unwavering love, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to share in her vibrant and well-lived life.
