Obituary of Scott James Cook

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Scott James Cook, on Saturday December 16th at the age of 70 after a brief illness.  Scott was predeceased by his mother Arleighn Cook, in November 2023, his father James Cook in 2000, and by his dear brother Kent (Maryan) in 2022.  He is survived by his sons Matthew and Jesse Cook, grandsons Douglas Cook, Joshua Cook.  Scott is survived by 5 siblings, Charles (Merryl), Peggy (Ron, deceased 2022), Alan (Linda), Jayne (Chuck), Ian (Bettina).  Scott will be missed by his dear friends Randy Foster and his partner SherriLee Wert Nadeau.

Most of Scott’s working career was in the furniture industry where he spent many years living in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.  Upon retirement in 2019, he decided to return to Waterloo Region to be close to his family.  During the last number of years, he enjoyed working part time for Musselman Excavating.

Scott was a gentle soul, always had a smile on his face, with a positive attitude enjoying his time together with family and friends.  He was a tinkerer and loved working on all things mechanical, there was nothing he could not fix.

Although he missed his connections in Winnipeg, he was especially appreciative of being able to spend the last number of years here locally with his family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo where we will be celebrating Scott’s life in the Fireside Room on Saturday January 27th, 2024 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
