John Michael “Mike” Metcalfe

It is with complete heartbreak that we have to announce the unexpected passing of "Mike" John Michael Metcalfe while at home January 21st,  2024

Mike will live on through his son Justin (Kara), daughter Shawna (Andre), his 3 grandchildren Tavian, Zyndaya, Zaiden, step-grandchild Devinne, his father John, and former spouse Pauline, step-children Terri, Nikki, Cody, Daryl and Kelsey.  

Predeceased by his mother Suzanne and his brother Chris.

Mike was born on November 18th 1964 in Toronto Ontario where he met the mother of kids /former wife Cheryl (Scott) and began his family and move to Kitchener where he called home majority of his life. Mike devoted 24 years to the carpenter union as a  carpenter/drywaller where he made life long friends and memories that he probably took to his grave lol. Mike had a big heart making sure to not only provide for his own kids but several step children along the way.  He spent 15 years with his former wife Pauline where they had many years of good times and memories.  Mike was free spirited and lived through the eyes of an eagle. He constantly talked about living off the grid. If he could have lived with his truck, a tent and his mini bbq, he would have been the happiest man alive. I truly wish he could have fulfilled his dream of taking off on a Harley Davidson and leaving all his worry’s behind.  I truly am happy that he got a taste of paradise with a family trip to Jamaica months before his departure. We all will miss him very much! 

A celebration of Mike’s life and a time visit with his family will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home’s Fireside Reception Room, 171 King St. S., on Saturday, January 27 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. with tributes at 5:00 p.m. Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date
