Obituary of John E. Schneider

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of John E Schneider on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in his 90th year. He was a lifetime resident of Kitchener; a dedicated partner, father, grandfather, friend, retired employee of JM Schneiders, and generous Church and community member. We feel blessed that his wish to die at home surrounded by family was granted. We are grateful for those dear friends who visited or sent prayers in his final days. Our heavy hearts are eased with the belief he has been welcomed into God’s house and that he is now free of the body that endured so much.  

John is survived by his devoted partner Elsie Rogan, his children; David (Wendy), Douglas (Christina), Carolyn (Dan Zinken) and Stuart (Cheryl); his 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.  Also survived by his two adoring sisters; Ruth Turner (Franklin) and Anne Pequegnat (Paul) and dear nieces and nephews that he treasured his connection to.  

According to John’s wishes, a Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., followed by memorial service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel.
