Jacob Epp passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024 at the age of 86.
Jacob will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Helene, son-in-law Dave Gawlina, and grandchildren Mara Jade Gawlina and David Richtermeier. He will also be missed by his brother Henry, sister-in-law Erna, nieces Sharon Monterio (Tony) and Suzanne Riddell (Brian Sr.) and their families, and his cousin Jake Penner.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (née McKay) and his parents Margaret and Henry Epp.
Jacob was born in Michaelsburg, Ukraine on April 18, 1937 and immigrated to Canada after World War II. Jake was an avid bowler and golfer who loved to fish, take pictures, and play card games of every sort. Jake was a faithful member of W-K United Mennonite Church. His long career as an Insurance Underwriter helped support all his passions.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00p.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday February 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following the service. Private interment at Parkview Cemetery will follow the reception. Cremation has taken place.
