Obituary of Myrtle Joan Hintz
With great sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife and mother Myrtle Joan Hintz on February 21, 2024 at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 90.
Devoted wife of Erwin Hintz for 65 years. Beloved mother of Karen Kuntz (Dan), Lisa Schumm (Mark) and Paul Hintz (Kelly). Cherished grandmother of Nicole Brown (Tyson), Lauren Schumm (Dario) and Corbin Schumm. Great grandmother of Harper Rose Brown. Myrtle is also survived by her sister, Joanne Kuntz and remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by her sisters Marie Underwood, Margaret Heiman, Kay Boettger, Wilma Messer, Jane McFadden, Esther Lough and Louise Boettger and by brothers, Lloyd, Harold, Ernest, Roy and Norman Lough.
Myrtle was a longtime member of Trillium Lutheran Church, Waterloo (formerly St. John’s Lutheran) where she was active with the E.L.W. and the quilting group. For over 60 years, her summers and weekends were spent at the cottage that she and Erwin built in Bayfield where many happy memories were made with family and friends.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Sandy from ParaMed for her compassionate care of Myrtle and to all of the staff at Grand River Hospital and Freeport Campus, Kitchener.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
