Obituary of Betty Geraldine Lambert

Betty Geraldine Lambert (nee Neill) passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-one on February 26, 2024, with family by her side.

Gerrie grew up on a farm in the Milton area and moved to Waterloo in her primary school years. She resided in several places as an adult before circling back to the Kitchener Waterloo area.

Geraldine was predeceased by her first husband John Smith, second husband William Lambert, and daughter, Linda Driedger.

She will live on in the hearts of her children David Smith (Sarah), Pat Smith (Fred Monteith), and Doug Lambert. She will also be greatly missed by her sister, Frances Miller, son in law Ron Driedger, former daughter in law Trish Hofstetter, and grandchildren Christine Driedger, Cassandra Smith, Zeck Smith, Kenny Smith, and Hunter Lambert.

Gerrie worked at an assortment of jobs prior to having a family, and later returned to part time work as her children grew. However, her primary calling was as a mother. She loved her children and always looked forward to family gatherings and visits.  Gerrie enjoyed socializing with friends and spent many years camping at seasonal trailer sites. She loved flowers and beautiful things and always took pride in her appearance. Gerrie strove to be as independent as possible and lived on her own with community support until shortly before her passing.

Family will welcome friends to share in their memories and sorrows on Friday March 8, 2024 at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb St East, Waterloo for a 10:00 a.m. time of visiting, 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service and reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.

Donations in Gerrie's memory may be made to the Cancer Society in memory of her daughter Linda and first husband John, or to Parkminster United Church.
