Obituary of Eva Anne Willing
Eva Anne Willing
June 10, 1927 – February 25, 2024
Eva passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024 at Innisfree House in Kitchener in her 97th year.
Eldest daughter of Anton and Klara Theis. Survived by her son Tony (Kathy), grandson Andrew, great-grandson Issiah, and her brother John Theis. Predeceased by her husband Peter Willing Sr (2005), her son Peter (2017), and her granddaughter Stephanie (2022). Also predeceased by her brother Matthew (2019) and her sisters Mary (2016) and Helen (2020).
Eva was a great conversationalist and a great storyteller of which she had many. She enjoyed pastimes which included watching movies, both old and new, keeping up to date by watching the news and a keen interest in American politics. She also loved doing daily crossword puzzles and reading. Eva was known to read upwards of 40 books per month thanks in part to the Waterloo public library. Eva was also a dog lover and was often seen in the summer months sitting on her front porch engaged in conversations with neighbours especially those that were out walking their dogs.
A special thank-you goes out to all Eva’s neighbours (you know who you are) who offered their support in her final years and to Innisfree House for their kind and compassionate care that Eva required in her last month. Upon Eva’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will take place at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
Condolences and donations to Innisfree House or the Humane Society would be appreciated and can be arranged through Erb & Good Family Funeral Home.
