Maynard will be very much missed by his loving wife Mary of 42½ years, his daughter Naomi (Tyler) and son Derek (Andrea) and grandchildren, Ava, Wesley, Meeghan, Celine, and Zoey. He will be fondly remembered by sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Maynard married into a family that loved him and was welcomed into the Barko family.
Maynard was born in Kitchener, Ontario on August 3, 1951. He was a true family man. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was his kids and grandkids biggest fan, and always there cheering them on. Maynard wore many hats. He enjoyed coaching ringette, soccer, and hockey as well as volunteering for the St. Clements Elementary School soccer team. He was well liked by all the kids as a coach and mentor, and a friend. Maynard lived and breathed St. Clements. He was a good neighbour, always there to help anyone in need. He has touched the lives of so many, and has left an imprint on all our hearts. He worked for La-Z-y Boy Furniture Company as a Supervisor for 20 years. He was a dedicated employee for the Wellesley township for 40 years. He especially loved working at the St. Clements Community Centre. He was an avid broomball player, and coached the “Green Machine” broomball team. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, campfires and anything to do with the outdoors. He loved card games with the family, Crokinole, and shuffleboard. Last but not least, he was a BIG fan of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Team.
