Obituary of Dr. Raphael "Raph" Jankowski

Dr. Raphael "Raph" Jankowski peacefully passed away at his home after displaying immense courage in his battle against cancer on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 47.

Raph was preceded in death by his father, Jan, and is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth, of Windsor, ON; his devoted brother, Dr. James Jankowski, and sister-in-law, Heather, of Kentucky, USA; his cherished daughters, Julianna, Evalise, and Claire; and his beloved partner, Deborah Cherrey, of Stratford, ON.

Immigrating from Poland as he entered high school, Raph proved that language was not a barrier when it came to grades.  He would later obtain an Honours in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa and Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Manitoba. An exceptional intellect, Raph was highly esteemed within the dental community. His passion for dentistry led to the establishment of numerous successful dental practices. Raph possessed an insatiable curiosity for all things scientific and technological. An adventurer at heart, he lived by his motto, "go big or go home," embracing life to the fullest extent and outside of most people’s comfort zones. Fast cars, culinary exploration, and travel were just a few of his many passions.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church, 66 Shanley St, Kitchener, on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
