With sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Paul Lamothe, at home, on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was 73.

Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Mary (nee O’Brien); by his children Donna (Dennis), Robert (Shelley), and Tanya (Chris); by his grandchildren Matthew (Kelsey), Megan, Travis, April, Tyler (Jordan), Hope (Parker), and Zack (Sydney); by his great-grandbabies; by his brothers Ron (Joanne) and Dan; and by his sisters Dino (Mike), Joanne (Ken), and Aline (Clifford, dec.).

Predeceased by his parents Olive and Ted, and his brother Mark.

Bob was born in a small French town called Bonfield, in northern Ontario. He had a love of the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a man of integrity and quiet disposition. His sense of humour will be greatly missed. Above all, he loved his family. He was a talented singer and musician and played in a bluegrass band for many years. He was a carpenter who loved woodworking and his cooking skills were enjoyed by many (his chili and banana bread were unrivalled). He was a staple at Canadian Tire and loved seeking great finds at garage sales! He had a love of gardening and believed a gentle word of encouragement resulted in prettier flowers and abundant gardens. Mary and Bob own a motor home and travelling was their passion. In his words, “he had a great 73 years”. He will forever be in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.
