Obituary of William Joseph Code
Code, William “Bill” Joseph
March 24, 1933 – March 20, 2024
With his wife Carolyn by his side, William “Bill” Code went to live with the angels just four days short of his 91st birthday.
Special thanks to the nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital for their loving care and for keeping Bill comfortable in his last days.
When Bill was young, he wanted to be a jockey and worked at the racetrack walking the horses. Instead, he grew up to be the Inglis version of the Maytag repair man, working for Inglis Home Appliances for many years. Later, he worked for the Rockway Golf Course and Crown Courier. Bill loved horse racing, casinos, and golf, and often arranged golfing junkets to Myrtle Beach with his buddies. We will remember Bill for his great sense of humour, and we will think of him whenever we hear his favourite song “As Time Goes By” from his favourite movie Casablanca.
Bill will be deeply missed by his loving wife Carolyn Bruckman-James, sister Norma Imonti and her family, daughter Cindy (Barry) and her family, stepdaughters Linda (Jeff), Sheree (Trevor), and Krystal and their families, step-grandchildren Shawn, Evan, and his Princess Ashley, and many more beloved family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place. As per Bill’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Condolences for the family and donations to the Food Bank, Grand River Hospital Foundation, or St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be arranged through www.erbgood.com.
