Obituary of Dolly Prus
Dolly (Donelda) Prus
December 27, 1929 – March 20, 2024
After 94 years of auditioning, Dolly (Donelda) Prus has joined the celestial choir. She is reunited with her parents, Pawel and Helena Prus; her sisters, Stella (Gord) Lemanski, Pola (Frank) Hickman, Stephanie (Claude) Holdenmeyer; and nephew, Rodney Hickman. Dolly passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.
In her heyday, Dolly lent her soprano voice to early stagings of K-W Musical Productions and as a soloist for many wedding ceremonies. In her retirement, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and St. Louis R.C. Church choirs.
She leaves behind nephews and nieces Dave (Barb) Hickman, Linda Disik, and Ed (Dorothy) Holdenmeyer as well as grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She will be missed and fondly remembered by Helen Gadawsky, Cecilia Motz, Cecilia Beechey, and a coterie of co-workers from Revenue Canada with whom she laboured during her entire working life.
Many thanks to the staff of Beechwood Manor for their gentle and patient care during Dolly’s stay.
