Obituary of Geoffrey Phillip Meston
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey on Friday, March 22 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care after a long journey with dementia at the age of 75 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, beloved son Grady (Lindsay) and cherished grandsons Finn and Reeve. He is fondly remembered by his sister Marilyn (Phillip) Fourie and their daughter Georgia. He will also be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law Judy and Bob Kirby, Susan and Bill Stinson, Wendy and Jim Boshart, Pam and Rheal Lariviere, Mike and Erin Yantzi and nieces and nephews Kim, Meghan, Nick, Jordan, Trevor, Allison, Emily, Meredith, Hayley, Steve, Rachel, Ben, Maddie, Jake, Morgan, and Josh.
Geoff was predeceased by his parents Marg and Don Meston. In his youth, Geoff spent many hours with his grandpa Compton in whose company he deepened his love of dogs, appreciation of the outdoors and respect for elders while listening to grandpa’s tales of WW1 adventures. He enjoyed any and every opportunity to travel, walk his dogs along Grand River Trails and ride his bike on deserted back roads. Geoffrey had a great admiration and immense pride in watching Grady grow and become a father to his sons. His kind heart and ready smile were a constant.
His family would like to thank the staff at Columbia Forest LTC for the compassionate care he received for the last two years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family and celebrate Geoffrey’s life during a memorial reception at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Fireside Reception Room, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, April 5, 2024 between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. Cremation will have taken place.
