Obituary of Mary Lourene Hergott

Mary passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care in her 102nd year. She was born in 1922 and lived a long, good life.

She was predeceased by her husband Leonard Hergott (2016), married for 72 years.

Mary will be sadly missed by her relatives and many friends.

Mary was born in Port Dover and moved to Brantford when she was married. She then moved to Kitchener where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked at many jobs, one being ‘Rosie the Riveter’ building airplane wings during World War II. She also worked for a printing company and spent the rest of her career working for the Waterloo Catholic Board of Education as a secretary at Sacred Heart School.

Mary spent over twenty-five winters in Florida with her many friends at Sun ‘N Fun Park outside of Sarasota. In the summers, her favourite place was her cottage at Conestoga Lake. Mary was active and social all her life, playing cards, games, shuffleboard, and many other events. A big focus of her and Len’s life was their involvement with the Twin City Square Dancers.

Besides her husband Len, the love of her life was her French Poodle dog Bridget and her many cats, the latest being Joey.

Cremation has taken place. At Mary’s request there will be no funeral.

Condolences and donations can be made to the K-W Humane Society or charity of your choice and may be arranged through Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo or www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
