Obituary of Margaret Brubaker
On April 16, 2024 Maggie completed her earthly journey and passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to whom she committed her life when she was eleven years old. Born in the United Kingdom on October 1, 1940, Margaret was the cherished daughter of the late Lilian (Kennedy) and Harry Hanson. Predeceased by her loving and much-loved husband C. David Brubaker in 2022.
Survived by their children, Timothy Brubaker, Stephanie Brubaker and her children Mitchell, Matthew and Malcolm Colson, and Jonathan Brubaker and his wife Tammy Brubaker (nee Schelter) and their children Jacob Brubaker and Kate Brubaker. Also survived by her sisters Helen, Dorothy, and Ginnie (George) and brother-in-law Robert. Predeceased by David’s sister Marion (Robert).
Margaret served in many volunteer positions in the community and later enjoyed employment at Christian Horizons until her retirement. Margaret’s greatest joy came from living out her Christian faith. Her church involvement included teaching children and teens in Sunday School, leading adult bible discussion groups, involvement in overseas missions committee work, and singing in choirs. Lately she spent time visiting and phoning seniors in their home, in hospital, or in long term care residences.
A service of thanksgiving to God for Margaret’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb St. W., Waterloo on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. preceded by visitation from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary United Cemetery at 44 Hawkesville Road, St Jacobs.
