Shaowen Song passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 66.

He is survived by his wife Olga, children David, Natalie, Julia, and Linda, two sons-in-law, four brothers, many nieces and nephews, his dog Lucky, and his cats Winston and Angel.   

Shaowen was predeceased by his parents Jie and Hong Zhen Song.

Shaowen was a beloved professor, a hard-working entrepreneur, and an amazing father. He loved swimming, biking, and most of all spending time with his family. Because sleep is the most important thing, he also enjoyed naps. Shaowen’s motto was, “Work hard, praise the Lord.”

Special thanks to the team at SOC for keeping his company running. We are also grateful to his brothers and family that flew out to come support us.

Friends and relatives are invited to a Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home’s chapel at 3:15 p.m.  A private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
