Obituary of Ralph James Brubacher

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the age of 72, surrounded by his family.

Ralph will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Anne Brubacher, children Matthew (Maria Gruending) and Heidi (Tavis Weber), grandchildren Ellie, Solomon, and Alma, brother Laverne (Ella), and his sisters Carol Shantz (Leroy), Arlene Groh (John), and Marion Martin (Ray). He will be grieved by his large extended family, his faith community, and his circle of friends. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Roy and Minerva Brubacher.  

Professionally, Ralph was a retired teacher and a practicing spiritual director. He was an avid gardener, marathon runner, and outdoor enthusiast. He was also a spiritual seeker, an active grandfather, and an ice cream pusher.

Cremation has taken place, and a Visitation will be held at the Waterloo North Mennonite Church, 100 Benjamin Rd, Waterloo on Wednesday, May 15 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm. The Memorial Service will be held at the church on Thursday, May 16 at 2pm, with a reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s website for those who cannot attend in person.
