Obituary of Shirley Ann Hehn

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the age of 79 years.

 

Survived by her devoted husband of 58 years James “Jim” Hehn, her loving children Denise McClanahan (Mike Meulenbelt), Theresa (Mark) Schott, Jim (Paula) Hehn, Trevor (Deanna) Hehn and Mary-Jo Hehn and her beloved grandchildren David, Katie, William, Megan, Dakota (Sam), Shelby-lynn (Chelsea), Dylan and her cherished great-grandson Tobias.

 

Shirley will also be remembered by her siblings and their families, sisters Ruby (Ken) Kee, Liz MacKeand, Lynda (Brian) Hodgins, Audrey (Clarence) Beninger, Donna (Richard) Zettler and her brother Harvey (Ann) Voisin, sister-in-law Joan Voisin and brother-in-law Wayne Hodgins. Shirely is also survived by Jim’s siblings and their families: Mike (Bertha) Hehn, Margaret (Doug) Weber and sister-in-law Rita Hehn. 

 

Predeceased by her parents August and Helen (nee Straus) Voisin, brothers Roy Voisin and Harold Voisin, sister Joan Hodgins and brothers-in-law Don MacKeand and Verdun Huber. Also predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Isadore (Florentine) Hehn, Jim’s siblings Syl Hehn, Agnes (Alvin) Kieswetter, Francis (Doreen) Hehn, Mary Hehn, Audrey (Melvin) Waechter. 

 

Shirley was a long-time member of St. Clements RC Parish and the Christian Mother’s Society and will also be remembered for her love of sewing and quilting.

 

The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff of Robin’s Grove at Barnswallow Place Care Community in Elmira and the staff in the I.C.U. B, 5th floor of Grand River Hospital for their exceptional care shown to Shirley.

 

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements RC Church, 3619 Lobsinger Line, St. Clements on Friday, May 17 at 10:00 am with Rev. Irenaeus Koziak as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Clements Cemetery and a reception will take place at the St. Clements Community Centre.
