Obituary of Betty Ann Chong
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in the early morning hours of Monday May 13th 2024 at the age of 77.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Wah Chong with whom she shared 58 years of happy marriage. She will be deeply missed by her children Theresa (Jim), Cecilia (Hektor), Greg (Joanna), Stephanie and her grandchildren Kaya, Emma, Marcus, Violet, Justin and Kodie. Betty will be fondly remembered by her mother King Siu Lee and her siblings Kim (Mark), Chris (Chi), Ann, Margaret and Alex (Barb).
Betty was predeceased by her father Do Jan Lee and her brother-in-law Michael.
Betty was an avid sports fan, always looking forward to a Maple Leaf hockey game or a Blue Jays game. We can all still hear her say ‘my team’ will win!
Special thanks to all the ICU doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Betty and her family over the last 3 ½ weeks.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday May 16, 2024 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. A private family service followed by interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
