Peter will be missed and his funeral was indeed a well deserved tribute. Everyone knows that Peter’s laugh and presence brought joy to his family and friends. If Peter was your friend, you knew it. One of my sons, on hearing of his passing, said “He was a nice man”.
There was never any doubt that Family was very important to Peter. His 58 year marriage to Lauris should be celebrated. Their wedding was just a few months after my own. Peter was so excited to get married to Lauris he was like a child on Christmas Eve. He wanted everyone to share in his joy and excitement and kept adding names to their wedding reception list. I should know, since their wedding reception was in our apartment in Montreal. That love continued and extended to children and grandchildren and brought him great joy.
Lauris, Mark, Nicole and Audley - you are lucky to have all the wonderful memories of Peter to console you during this time of sorrow. Just remember the one of a kind person that he was and how much joy he brought to so many.
Peter, as Miss Lou would say, WALK GOOD!

Uncle Peter was such a wonderful man who was so loved and appreciated. You brought my mother and father such wonderful laughs and memories. You will be missed but no doubt you shall be the ultimate angel to all your family and friends.

Uncle Peter, you are already so missed. Coming to grips with never hearing your laugh again is hard, but you are never far away. Forever in our hearts. We love you to bits. Condolences to Aunt Lauris, Nicole, Audley and Mark. You are in our thoughts.

I met Peter in 1962 when I immigrated to Canada. Through a mutual friend, Peter offered to share his 1BR apartment with me. At the lease end, we moved to a larger 2BR apartment. Most weekends we either had parties, went fishing or drove around in his car. Peter loved his cars and was always trying to improve it's performance by making adjustments to wherever part he felt he could make adjustments so as to enhance its performance. He was a very hard worker in the sheet metal business for several years. He made a career change for the better when we worked together at Trutom Limited, and he achieved certification by the Canadian Government Specifications Board (CGSB) as an Industrial Radiographer. He was also certified in other testing methods offered by Trutom. Knowing Peter, you would have to remember his unequalled "LAUGH". Nowhere in this universe has anyone had or will have a laugh like Peter. I can see and hear him laughing so hard, closing one eye in his delight. What a guy. He loved life so completely. He will be missed by many. A n uncomplicated man loving his family, loving his life, forever will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend!
