Predeceased by her husband Henry “Harry” Gray Baptie Scott, son David, parents Horace and Agnes (nee Gray) Martin and sister Dianne Allain.
Beverley Joyce Scott (nee Martin) grew up in many communities across Canada as the family moved and followed her father (Horace) in his assignments with the RCAF. They settled in Nepean, Ontario outside of Ottawa when he worked for the Government of Canada for the remainder of his career. She herself was proud to serve her country in an auxiliary capacity and went to Normal School to become a teacher.
Her teaching duties drew her to Toronto where she was introduced to Harry Scott through a colleague and friend, they married in her home in Nepean and soon moved to Waterloo where they raised the family and with three little ones Bev was a full-time homemaker with a talent for baking, love of sewing, and a passion for gardening. When the children became teenagers, she jumped back into work at Wilfrid Laurier University and enjoyed many years as the office manager for Optometrist, Dr. Buchner, with a long-time practice on the main street of Uptown Waterloo.
Parkwood Mennonite Retirement Home (Waterloo) was Bev’s home for the last three years. Special thanks to the administration and nursing team for the day-to-day care and outstanding support through the final days. Many new friendships bloomed and Ruth will miss her good friend. Thanks to Tammy, Stephanie, Emese, Leto, Bev, and the entire staff.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date in June.
