Obituary of Dorothy Bauer

On Friday, May 24, 2024, we said goodbye to our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and loyal friend, Dorothy Bauer. Dorothy (nee Owen) was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Ethel, her brother Harvey and sister Helen Underwood, infant son James John and her beloved husband, Leonard.

In her 98 years of a life full and rich with love and friendship, she leaves a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.  She will be missed with love and laughter by daughters Linda (Braun/Lyons) and Diane (Schmidt/Jim Rothwell), grandchildren Marcie (Andrew Trearty), Darren Braun, Taryn Schmidt, Krystal Schmidt (Vaden Watson), and Brittney (Michael Dequilla) and 11 great-grandchildren who will miss their Gram and her silly laughter.

Sister Barb Koehler and sister-in-law Pat Hiebert join the family in inviting friends and neighbors from Luther Village and beyond to celebrate the life of this wonderful lady.

Visitation will take place at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment to follow the service at Parkview Cemetery. A reception will take place in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room after the interment.
