Obituary of Johanna Gudrun Raymond
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the age of 91.
Johanna is survived by her son Robert of Ayton, ON, son Michael and his wife Takako of Osaka, Japan, daughter Dawn Snydmiller of Calgary, AB, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Raymond, parents Johan and Eva Stadfeld, sisters Cookie and Connie, son-in-law Brian Snydmiller, and her daughter-in-law Julie Leibold.
Born in Winnipeg, of Icelandic and Scottish descent, Johanna lived in Ladysmith, BC, Fort William, ON (now Thunder Bay), and St. Hubert, QC while she served in the RCAF. Johanna lived in Quebec until 1961 when she moved to Richmond, BC with her husband and daughter Dawn, then in 1971, moved to Waterloo, ON with her now larger family, and she remained in Waterloo until her passing. Johanna and Frank were married in 1955 in Brockville, and together, they enjoyed travelling the world. Sewing was Johanna’s passion, but she was also a prolific reader and collector of books. Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter will be sorrily missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her moment.

Cremation has taken place. A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11:00am to 2:00pm with remarks to be shared at 1:00pm. A private interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
