Obituary of Carol Ann Fisher
Carol Ann Fisher, aged 87, passed away peacefully at Highview Residence in Kitchener on June 9, 2024.
Born in St Thomas, Ontario, on November 28, 1936, Carol lived a life full of adventure, love, and resilience. Her infectious zest for life and boundless curiosity took her on multiple journeys across the globe, where she embraced different cultures, made countless friends, and gathered memories that she would lovingly recount to her family and friends.
A devoted mother to three children, Carol balanced her love for travel with an unwavering dedication to her family. She instilled in her children the values of compassion, independence, and the importance of broadening one's horizons. Her stories of far-off places and the lessons she learned from diverse cultures enriched the lives of her children, who now carry forward her legacy of curiosity and kindness. Carol's home was always filled with treasures from far-off places, as well as warmth, laughter, and the aroma of delicious recipes she collected from her travels.
The lights of her life in her later years were her four grandchildren, Emily, Steven, Conner, and Aaron. As much as her health and mobility would allow, she was an active participant in their lives, whether it was attending sporting events, graduation ceremonies, or just having them over for a visit.
She is predeceased by her husband Morgan (Sr), mother Hazel, her father Jack, and her brother William (Sharon). Carol is survived by her three children, Morgan (Sandy), Craig (Nancy), and Michelle (Chris), as well as four grandchildren. Her family and friends will remember her as a beacon of light and love, whose legacy of exploration and compassion will continue to inspire them.
Special thanks to management and staff at The Westhill Retirement Residence in Waterloo and Highview Residence in Kitchener for all their care and compassion while she resided there.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carol's name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada and Sanguen Health Centre through Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, or at www.erbgood.com.
