Obituary of John Robert Slipec
Family of John Robert Slipec is sad to announce his passing on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, in his 82nd year.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Anna Slipec. Also predeceased by his parents Ann and Harry, and by his aunts and uncle Jean, Kay, Pauline and Bill.
Bob worked for the Toronto Metropolitan Police Department as the administrator to the Chief of Police for over 25 years (C division).
In retirement he was involved with the Kitchener Rangers hockey team by billeting several young hockey players, playing a part in many traditions and special nights for the boys. To Bob and Anne, Gregory Campbell, one of their billet sons, held a special place in their hearts and continued to stay in touch.
Bob is survived by his sister Janie (Tom) Dalgarno and his niece Kelly Morgan who reside in Edmonton. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Pauline Holmes, niece Mary (Jay) Young, great niece and nephew Meghan Young and Jacob Young (Taylor Currie), and cousins Dawnna, Derek and Stephen Roy, Natalie Bezruchka and Dan Garry.
Cremation has taken place. The Panachyda Service will be held in 40 days as customary for the Ukrainian Church.
