Passed away at Waterloo Hospice on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the age of 104 years.
Survived by her beloved husband Floyd and her brother Grant Jahnke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born the oldest child of six born to Gottlieb and Annie Peters Jahnke in Main Centre SK on January 31, 1920. Her career included working with the Canadian Mennonite Bible College in Winnipeg, Mennonite Central Committee in Asuncion Paraguay and later M.C.C. head office in Akron Pennsylvania. Together with her husband, they served with M.C.C. in Calcutta India for three years and returned to Ontario to begin a career at the newly established Conrad Grebel College until her retirement. Pauline loved to sing and sang in church choirs, loved needlework and the game of scrabble. She volunteered with the Mennonite Historical Society of Ontario, the House of Friendship, the Women’s Missionary Association of Stirling Avenue Mennonite church and Eastwood Community Homes Inc.
A memorial service to celebrate Pauline’s life and faith will be held at Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church, 57 Stirling Ave. N., Kitchener on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 am. A livestream and recording of the service will made available on Pauline’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Cremation will have taken place and interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
