Obituary of Gary Neil Martin

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the age of 65.

Gary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Debra (Deb), children Kerri, Kyle (Dawn), and Kent (Nicole), grandchildren Jerome, Aubrianna, and Ophelia, mother Vera Martin (nee Metzger), brothers Richard (Toni) and Mike, sisters Marilyn Weber (Dave) and Denise, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Gary was predeceased by his father Nelson Martin, and his parents-in-law Jerome and Grace Strauss (nee Busch).

Gary enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing hockey, watching drag racing (NHRA), and spending time with his Friday Night Crew. He loved his pets King, Kelly, and Harley. He took several special family vacations, and once travelled coast-to-coast on his same motorcycle. Above all, Gary loved his family and was a very proud Gramps. He loved his home videos and reminiscing about the good times.

Special thanks to Dr. Andrea Molckovsky, the nurses on the 6^th floor B Wing at Grand River Hospital, and the excellent staff at Waterloo Region Hospice for the compassionate care you all gave to Gary.

A Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm and again on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St, St Jacobs on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Clements Cemetery, 2789 Herrgott Rd, St Clements. A Reception will follow at the St. Clements Community Centre, 1 Green St, St Clements.
