Yau-Yong Tsai

July 16, 1946 – July 26, 2024

Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on July 26, 2024 at the age of 78.

Survived by his wife Pui-Man, his children and their partners Lex, Jinyi and Jon, his granddaughter Madeleine and his siblings Sui, Nick and Susan.

Yau-Yong was born in Shanghai, China. He studied art in Paris, France where he also met and later married Pui-Man. He immigrated to Canada in 1977 where he and Pui-Man raised their children in Waterloo, Ontario.

Throughout the years, he enjoyed a variety of interests, such as tai-chi, archery, Japanese cinema, coin collecting, art, and antiques. He had a deep appreciation for French red wines, but above all, he approached life with a smile on his face, constantly seeking good food and laughter with friends like his Coffee Club.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 8^th, 2024 from 2-4pm in the Fireside Reception Room.
