Obituary of Robert John William Chapman
Robert (Robbie) Chapman left us much too early on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the age of 34. This was after a 4-week hospital stay resulting from a serious car crash. Robbie leaves behind his father Douglas Chapman and sister Katherine Chapman. Robbie is predeceased by his mother Alice Chapman.
Robbie was an extremely friendly and gregarious person who loved people and who made friends easily. He loved to travel and had adventures in Europe, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico and the USA as well as coast to coast in Canada. He lived most of his life in Waterloo and Oakville; however, he did do a 3-year stint with the Chapman family in Naperville, Illinois. He also lived in Calgary for a time, where he worked as a bartender, and where he got to experience the Calgary Stampede.
Robbie worked as a candy maker at Brittles and More for many years but recently became interested in becoming a licensed private investigator. He had just begun preparing to take an online training course when he was taken from us. He loved sports and played lacrosse as a kid and was an avid snow boarder up to the end.
The Chapman family is left with an enormous void and his friends will miss him dearly.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2pm, immediately followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.
Condolences for the family and donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com.
