Margaret Petersen

Obituary of Margaret McNeill Petersen

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Margaret Petersen (nee Jamison) announce her passing, surrounded by family, after a short battle with cancer.  Margaret was 75 years old.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Campbell Jamison, Agnes Jamison and Donald Schott; and in-laws Tove and Harold Petersen.

Leaving to mourn, her husband of almost 44 years, Gerner Petersen; her children Erik Petersen (Marisa), Christopher Petersen, Karen Hudson (Chad), Ken Petersen (Lori) and Kathy Petersen; Siblings Sallie Brown (Ken), Kathy Stilwell, Mabel Swijters (William) and Audrey Jamison; grandchildren Jacob, Hailey, Brook, Natasha, Zachary, Elizabeth, Joshua, Emma, Victoria, Brody, Magnus, Nicole and Faith; great grandchildren Phoenix and Serenity; the Austin Drive sisters, Michelle Burgess, Robbie (Kim) Broda, Paula Stilwell (Randy); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Margie was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her big family and was the “rock” to many. Margie loved everyone who came into her life with her “big heart.”  She was a strong woman with a great sense of humour that shone through to the end. Margie worked until the age of 73 at The Little Short Stop and made many special friends of her staff and customers. She enjoyed so much in life, especially her visits with her grandchildren and friends. Margie loved scrapbooking, the beach and her soap operas. Everyone knew never to interrupt during “Days of Our Lives.” She enjoyed her sister’s day every month and watching movies with her husband.
