Dimitrios “Jim” Muratis
April 3, 1954 – August 12, 2024
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on August 12th 2024.
Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Evangelia, as well has his children Peter (Brittany), Kathy (Richard), his grandson Theo, siblings Panagiota, Gerasimos, Eireni, and Dinos, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and in Greece.
Predeceased by his parents, Theodoros and Penelope, as well as his son Theo.
Jim was known for his sense of humour, his love of baseball, his green thumb, and being the BEST Pappouli. He was a generous soul, who made his family feel so loved. He was a philosopher who enjoyed engaging friends and loved ones in deep conversation, and his creative ideas and unique perspectives on life will be missed by all. The last few years of Jim’s daily life were filled with joy, as he spent time with his best friend and grandson Theo. Jim was an adventurer who came to Canada at age 19, from his home on the island of Lesbos, in Greece, and grew a large network of friends, who will miss him greatly. Never short of a bright idea or a funny joke, our lives will all be a little less interesting now that we say goodbye to a man who meant so much to so many.
