First, I want to say I didn’t know Josh personally. I couldn’t sleep one late Friday night & browsing through Instagram & saw Josh’s picture. I then located his obituary & watched some of his service. Second, bless you & your family in your time of grief. My heart & prayers go out to you. Third, I have lost family recently very unexpectedly as you have. A close aunt was here literally one day & gone the next-a very strong believer & Christ follower. Sometimes, I believe God takes the good ones way too early. As I’ve gotten to know a little about Josh through his service, I can see they had some in common. My aunt’s motto was “leave the world in a better place than you found it” and I think Josh did too in all the people he touched. My heart & prayers go out to you & your family in the journey ahead with out your beloved Josh. Writing this w/tears, I hope you leave the world in a better place than you found it. With love and blessings from far away in Austin Tx, Wes Singleton

You'll be missed Josh. Whenever we hung out it was always a blast. So glad I got to see you, Ash and your kids at the dance recital in December. It was easy to tell that fatherhood and being a husband meant the world to you. Rest in peace bratha.

Although we haven’t kept in touch, we will always remember a young Josh with a big smile. He was a huge reflection of his wonderful family, whom we all befriended mostly through hockey, among other things. He became a good friend to our son Mike Fohring, who said it all in his tribute. We cannot imagine the pain that all of you carry, and are very very sorry for this. RIP Josh… we will never forget you.

I knew Josh through work, I met him on the project where I met my partner. We spent hours in a room together. Josh was hilarious (with stories not to be shared here), smart, and hard-working. I learned a lot from him, especially as I was just starting my own career.
What I grew to appreciate most about Josh was his advocacy for others in the workplace, and especially for my partner. He inspired confidence, pushed people to pursue opportunities (even when they didn't fully believe in themselves), always put in a good word, and supported whatever decisions they made. His generosity stood out and set him apart as an exceptional colleague.
He will be missed.

Lisa you likely don’t remember us, but as a mother please hang in there. You won’t ever feel whole again I am sure, and can’t even imagine your pain. Try to remember the good times and laughs, as Josh likely would want you to. Thank God you have Jesse. With much love, Norm, Chris and Mike Fohring

I was heartbroken to hear of Josh's passing - I will always remember him as a kind-hearted and generous person. I had the opportunity to play a few rounds of golf with Josh over the years and will cherish the good chats, fun, and camaraderie shared - I found a hard-copy picture from a golf event enjoyed with Josh, Ashley, and friends.
Sending heartfelt condolences and love,

We’re neighbours with Ashley and Josh, and felt their welcoming, warm presence from the day we moved in and they brought us cookies. Josh was always willing to help, whether it was offering a hand moving something, or being a curious, validating ear when we had house issues (like raccoons in the chimney!). You’re in our thoughts and prayers. We are sending so much love to you Ashley, Lively, George and your family.

So saddened and shocked to hear this news. I fondly remember Josh for his big heart, his warmth, his humour (I still laugh thinking of some of the things he did and said, many many years later), and most of all, for his fierce friendship. Everyone who was lucky enough to know Josh loved him and looked up to him, gravitated to him. This is such a tragic loss, and I send my warmest condolences to his family who always meant so much to him, and to whom he meant the world.

My heart is immensely filled with sorrow for Josh’s family and friends. I know Josh from the best days, which were the hockey days as he was in a circle hockey players we called “the hockey boys” which also included my son, Mike. Josh always had a smile on his face and was just so loved and admired by everyone that knew him. Fortunately for me, I unexpectedly ran into Josh a few months ago and he gave me a great big hug and asked me how I was doing and how Mike was doing. Just always thinking of others! Fly with the Angels Josh… You are so loved and will always be loved and thinking of you and your family…sending my most Heartfelt sympathy and prayers…Rhonda Doran

When we think of Josh we can't help but smile :) He was so genuine and honest in conversation, making us laugh time and time again. His love for Ashley was evident in how he always said "yes" to her fun ideas and adventures! His love for Lively and George was evident in how he cuddled and played with them! He loved Jesus. He loved golf. We loved that he always had a high-five or fist-bump ready for Quincey. Josh was an absolute joy to be around, his genuiness was a breath of fresh air.

Ashley, Lively, George and family. We offer our deepest condolences to you all. We have known Josh for a long time as he attended elementary school with our oldest. It was so nice to see him move in to the neighbourhood with his own growing family. It was always such a busy active household filled with love and laughter. We will hold you in our thoughts as you navigate these troubling times. Know that we are always here for anything you need.

Ashley, Lively, George and family. We did not know you and Josh personally however we felt your love when we met after you purchased the house on Sandowne. You and Josh were there prior to closing to see how the pool worked. The house on Sandowne was my (Shirley) family home and we were happy that the purchasers were a young couple who would make the house their family home. Josh was so excited to have a house that would soon become a home for his family (you were pregnant with Lively at that time). His wish came true and he made that house your home with great memories that is filled with lots of love. Our deepest sympathy. Bob & Shirley Hayes

Ashley, Lively and George our hearts breaks with yours.
We always had the best summer BBQ's at your house since we joined Slate. Josh always hosted us so well, he was always generous, kind and made us feel like your house was also ours. At those pool parties we all laughed together, today we cry together but that's just how life goes sometimes.
Josh gave Alaïa this purse a couple of years ago, she always loved it and this week she carried it and kept telling us how she remembered him kindly. Josh, you made an impact on so many peoples lives without even knowing it. We will always remember you for the amazing friend you were.
Ash, we pray God gives you strength, comfort and peace during this hard journey. We will always be there for you.
Love you, The Britos

Sending our love, strength and prayers to the Webber and Bonnell family during this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of growing up with Josh and his brother Jesse from early elementary school until high school in Waterloo.
A memory I hold near and dear to me is going to East Side Mario’s with Josh and his Mom, Lisa, in grade 5 or 6 for dinner as Josh was able to invite a friend every so often to enjoy some pasta and laughs.
Forever grateful for knowing Josh and the entire Webber family.

Ashley, Lively, George and family. We were so saddened to hear of Josh's passing. He was the love of your life Ashley and I cannot begin to imagine the emotions you and your family are going through. We didn't get to spend alot of time together but Christmas get togethers were a highlight. Josh laughed, participated in our games and songs and was always so engaging. He had a huge heart and loved you and the children dearly. Our love and thoughts are with you. May you find some comfort in the love that surrounds you. Love Barb Foster and Mike MacCluskey
