Obituary of Edmund Mark Bleskie
Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was 91.
Dearly loved and remembered by his beloved wife of 58 years, Frances Bleskie, daughter Lisa Bleskie of Salt Spring Island, B.C., grandchildren Madeline Fraser (Quinton) and Raven Bleskie-Fetter, great-grandson Noah, sister-in-law Florence Bleskie, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Adam and Victoria Bleskie, son Brian Bleskie, brothers John, Maxie, Benjamin, Peter, and Leonard, and his sisters Mary Yantha and Helen Blank.
Edmund was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, where he volunteered as an usher. He also volunteered for the KW Food Bank, the Diabetes Association, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and as a Cub Leader. He served in the Canadian Navy and Army, peace-keeping in Cyprus.
Special thanks to Catherine, Terry, many dear neighbours and friends, and Father Rafal Toman for their visits, care, and friendship. We also extend our gratitude to the PSWs and the Palliative Nursing Team who provided support, friendship, and compassionate care of Edmund during his final years.
Cremation has taken place, and a Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St, Waterloo on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm. An Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
