Obituary of Ruth Ramona Matthews

Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the age of 87.

 

Born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia on September 22, 1937, Ramona arrived in Toronto in 1951. She moved to Seaforth in 1956, where she met her best friend and husband of 65 years (married November 28), Jack Matthews. They were “two peas in a pod.” Ramona was a wonderful mother and best friend, as well as a caring and sharing grandmother known as “Gamms!”

 

Ramona will be deeply missed by her husband Jack Matthews, daughter Jacqueline (Michael), grandchildren Matthew (Julie) and their son Everett Jack, Michael (Katelyn), and Alicia (Mat Mercier). Ramona is also survived by her brother Raymond Jessome (Margaret) of London, and her sisters Cathy Robinson (Peter) of Kitchener, Starr Jessome of Toronto, and Carol Potvin of Kitchener.

 

Ramona was predeceased by her brothers Robin and Buddy, both of Nova Scotia.

 

We will remember Ramona for her kind heart, and being the best person you could ever know. We will treasure our family moments spent travelling, having wonderful days at the beach and cottage, and sharing smiles and laughter.

Cremation has taken place, and a private Graveside Service will be held.
