Obituary of Mary Louise Marquardt

Mary passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia at Lanark Heights (Kitchener). She was 98 years old.

Mary is survived by her son Tim Hehn (Wanda) of Waterloo, step-daughter Cathy Habermehl (Bruce) of Rothsay, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her first husband Alex Hehn (1979) and second husband Harold Marquardt (2019), daughters Sharon Hehn (1993) and Beth Vigneux (Greg) (1999), step-son Paul Marquardt (Lee) (2020) and her six siblings.

Mary lived in Walkerton until 1989 and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and President of the CWL for 2 years. She was also the President of the Walkerton Little Royal, the Walkerton Lawn Bowling Club, and the Lioness Club (working for the CNIB). Mary moved to Kitchener in 1989, where she became a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and President of the St. Francis Marathon Bridge Club. She loved to play duplicate Bridge. Mary loved the colour RED. She also enjoyed being busy, socializing, and was always up for the next dinner, dance, or holiday. She loved company and entertaining. Her motto was, “The more the merrier.” We hope she is now having the greatest dinner party ever. Rest in Peace.
