Obituary of Garry Schmitthauser

Passed away unexpectedly at home in Kitchener on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 68.

He will be missed by his three brothers Rick (Juliet), Dave, and Rob; his nephew Ryan; his aunt and uncle Ilona and Rich Osbelt, and his uncle Bob Schulte; his cousins Julie (Mark), Tony (Betty), and Mike; and his many friends.

Predeceased by his mother Elly Ahrens, his father Ted, his aunt Ursula Schulte, uncle Harry, and aunt Katie Gruning.

He was an avid sports fan, particularly hockey, baseball and football, and was quite a vocal armchair coach. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, and loved 70s and 80s rock music. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Garry’s life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Fireside Reception Room. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
