Obituary of Patrick John Gerard Blanke

Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, December 9, 2024 at the age of 63.

Patrick will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Deborah Webber-Blanke, daughter Alexandra Flaherty (Ryan), son Maxwell Blanke (Samantha), his grandchildren Rowan, Isabelle, and Miller, sisters Nancy Ready (Jamie) and Carol Brandt (Dale), and his nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Irvin and Mildred Blanke, and his sister Kathy Weiler.

Patrick was a family man through and through; deeply cherished by his wife Deborah of 35 years. Pat enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and extended and large friend group.  Patrick worked as a dedicated postal worker for 25 years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues; his strong work ethic and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Patrick’s heart belonged to the North, especially his beloved cottage at Miller Lake. It was his sanctuary, a place where so many cherished memories were created over the years; laughter by the waters of Georgian Bay, cozy evenings by the fire with his beloved dog Jude, and the simple joys of nature's beauty.

Patrick will be remembered for his generosity, love, and unwavering devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of treasured memories and a reminder to find joy in life's simplest pleasures.

Catholic Mass in Patrick’s honor will take place at St. Louis Church, 53 Allen St. E, Waterloo on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. A livestream and recording of the service will be available on the funeral home’s website. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Ave, Waterloo. Patrick’s life will then be celebrated at Kentucky Burbon Restaurant, 103 King St N, Waterloo, ON from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eulogy will be read at 3:30 pm.
