Obituary of Helen Clara Schmidt

Helen C. Schmidt (nee Traher), R.N. passed away at the Village of Winston Park on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the age of 89.

Dear mother of Terri-Lee Schmidt (Rick Elzinga), and a dear friend of Keith Balsillie. She will also be missed by her grand fur-babies Tasha, Charlotte, and Bonnie.

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 33 years Edward Joseph Schmidt (1994) and her parents Jack Traher (1959) and Marion Traher (1990).

Helen was a graduate of the Stratford General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1956, where she was awarded the school cup for best school spirit and student leadership. Helen will be lovingly remembered by all her remaining SGH classmates.

A special thank-you to Gwen Truslove for her devotion to making Helen’s life so much easier on many occasions. When needed, she was always there.

Cremation has taken place, and at Helen’s request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to the Humane Society may be arranged through www.erbgood.com.
