Obituary of Ronald Richard Remers

Ronald Remers passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the age of 65 years. 

Survived by his son Nolan, his daughter Erika (Alex), his grandchildren Sawyer, Vera, Elijah, and Miles, and by his brothers Gerry (Susan), and Edward (Leslee) and their families.  Fondly remembered by Nolan and Erika’s mother, Lesley. 

Predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Elisabeth, and by his brother Reiner (Karen). 

Ron worked in the HVAC industry for 40+ years, starting out working with his dad, Gerhard (at Boehmers) and ending up working with his son, Nolan.  He was known as one of the best gas fitters in the industry.  Anything Ron worked on was built to last. He was a loving father and friend who would help anyone in any way he could. Never turning down a visit with friends, family, or his grandkids… as long as he could have a beer and a Colts Cigar. 

Special thanks to the staff at both Grand River Hospital and the Grand River Cancer Centre for all their care, compassion and professionalism and for keeping him comfortable in his final moments. And to Chris Bray, for the friendship they had these last two years, and all the care he had provided in making sure he was doing okay. 

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with memories to be shared at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
