A link to the livestreamed service will appear here soon

Devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and dedicated member of the Parkminster Church Community, has passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Christmas Day, 2024, just two days after her 95th birthday.

Marion has been the matriarch of the Mutton family and is predeceased by the love of her life, Richard Mutton. She is survived by her children Doug (Ali Gibson), Bruce (Shelley), and Carolyn Forler (Mike). She leaves behind her loving grandchildren Alison (Patrick Carter), Scott (Karen de Leon), and Ian Forler (Caitie Dietrich), Laura Mutton (Jimmy Molto), Daniel Mutton, Heidi VanBodegom (Brian), Hanh (Caroline), Deng, and Nock Thalychanh (Richard Exon), and her great-grandchildren Keira and Hannah VanBodegom.

Also predeceased by her second husband Gordon Chambers and infant son Jimmy.

Although trained as a primary school teacher, Marion retired from teaching when she had her children and dedicated her life to volunteering, both in the community and at her beloved church Parkminster United. She was instrumental in supporting refugee families and was a large part of the connection between the Pinetown Mission in South Africa and Parkminster, which is now known as the Plett Meal Centre. She was acknowledged for dedication and leadership at Pinehaven Nursing Home for over 50 years, and in 1985, she was recognized as the Woman of the Year for K-W for her lifelong commitment to volunteering.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Palliative Team with Ontario Health at Home, which gave us the privilege of caring for Marion in the comfort of home. Special thanks to Marion’s private personal support staff, Rowena, Liduina, and LeeAnn for their care and compassion.
