Obituary of Florence Patricia Hayne
Florence Patricia Hayne (ne Millar) age 91 passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 at The Villages of Winston Park in Kitchener.
Dear wife of Patrick Hayne of Waterloo. Beloved mother of John Millar Hobbs of Toronto, and Maureen Patricia Almquist of Calgary, and James Allan Hobbs of Sharon (deceased). Patricia is survived by grandchildren Aiyana Bradshaw of Toronto, Christopher and Sarah Almquist of Calgary, Andrew and Samantha Hobbs of Sharon, as well as her first husband Allan Hobbs and daughter-in-law Margaret Hobbs.
Patricia grew up on Robina Avenue in Toronto. She was a devoted mother to her children and an easy-going friend to all she met. She treasured friends and family, held coworkers as friends and had numerous life-long ‘sisters’. She was predeceased by her parents James and Florence Millar, and her two adoring aunts Mina and Louisa Bell of Toronto.
Patricia and Patrick began their loving life of 47 years together in 1977, moved to the Parry Sound area where they were married in 1978.
Patricia had many different jobs over 50+ years of work and dedicated herself to each in turn.
She was a lover of nature, and especially dogs. Her house was always full of landscape art, indigenous art, and animal ‘totems’. With her eye for nature’s beauty, she loved the Canadian north country as her artist, father had.
The many months of care Pat received from HCCSS (LHIN), the support workers of Bloom and the years of tender care from the devoted staff of the Roseville neighbourhood at Winston Park were blessings and will always be wonderful memories.
Cremation will take place in accord with Patricia’s wishes. No funeral is planned at this time. The family may arrange a memorial in the coming months. Patricia is loved and will be missed.
Friends are encouraged to plant flowers or a shrub or a tree, in the warm weather, in Pat’s memory. Condolences for the family may be arranged through the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com
