Obituary of Donna Marie Glass

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Marie Glass (nee Croth) on January 2, 2025, four days before her 93rd birthday, surrounded by her loving family. Donna joins Bill, the love of her life in eternity. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her seven children, David, Linda (Chris), Susan, Pamela, Kelly (Bill), Catherine (Randal) and Bill (Jen). Also survived by her brother-in-law Larry, brother in law John, sister in law Evelyn, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years. William (Bill) in 2023, her parents Charles and Gladys Croth, father and mother-in-law, Clair and Thelma Glass, her brother Bob Croth, her sister Barbara Lewis, sister-in-law Jean Glass and her son-in-law Steve Daly.

Donna was born in Stratford, Ontario and grew up in Kitchener as a young girl and began a career at Mutual Life following high school, where she met the love of her life, Bill. It was love at first sight and a great union of everlasting love, commitment and family. Life was a true adventure for them in their many travels around the world. They both enjoyed summer vacations in Southampton and their winter getaway in St. Maarten, especially when accompanied by family members. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend and inspiration to many.

Her family was very important to her, and she always put them first. She was the most selfless, loving, kind and compassionate person. A true living angel on earth. She lived her life one day at a time, enjoying each day to the fullest. She was an avid reader, guru at puzzles, enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. She made the best pies and enjoyed taking the time to show us her secrets. Our fond memories of childhood and adult vacations, her positive outlook, her quick wit, her creativity, her strong faith (which included saying her rosary and prayers daily for people she knew and didn’t know), her kindness and care for others will hold forever in our hearts and memories as we celebrate the life of this beautiful and amazing woman. As Dad said many times, “the best decision he made was marrying you” holds true. He and your children were grateful and blessed to have you in their lives. We will love and miss you always. Our birthdays won’t be the same without your call singing Happy Birthday and your signature flowers in our cards, which now adorns your headstone. In your words mom, “God Bless You” and “Keep smiling!”

The family is grateful for the wonderful caregivers in keeping mom safe and comfortable. As per Donna’s wishes, a private family service will be held.

Condolences for the family and donations to the Food Bank or a charity of your choice may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com
