Obituary of John "Jack" Henry Reid

Beloved son of Gordon and Kathleen and dear brother of Linda (deceased). Jack was born in Iroquois Falls Ontario. He spent his married life working and raising his family in Waterloo.

A true entrepreneur, Jack built two successful construction equipment businesses. Craftway Equipment with Bob Fowler and BNR Equipment with Boyd Bell and Dave Nigh. The people who worked with and were clients of Jack always spoke of his honest business acumen.

Most integral to Jack's life was his sense of adventure and love of what life had to offer. Jack was a runner and completed 51 marathons including Boston and England’s London to Brighton 52 mile ultra Marathon. He loved to sail. Lake Superior and Georgian Bay held a special place in his heart. He was a pilot and owned his own plane in his younger years. At the age of 90 he went gliding. He was a true life long learner and a voracious reader of non fiction.  He loved to travel, especially by train.

Dad’s next journey has begun. He is now with his wife Frances and so many others that he loved.

Loving father to Kathy (Arch deceased), John (Diane) and Marge. Dear grandfather to Jennifer, Sara, Andrew, Devon and Christopher. Great-grandfather to Isabelle, Milla, Kamryn, Dominic, Jackson, Mack, Emma and Aubrielle.

He will be missed. Special thanks to Brad and Steve for your weekly visits with Dad.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2025.

Condolences for the family and donations to a charity of choice and may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Waterloo at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com
