Obituary of Neil Meikle
On a beautiful autumn day, Neil was released from his pain. He died peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto on Wednesday, October 5th.
Born in London Ontario on April 9, 1952, he moved with his family to Waterloo in 1958. He earned an Honours BA in History from the University of Waterloo and an LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. He was called to the bar in 1981 and practised Labour Law in Toronto for many years.
Neil was predeceased by his father, William Norman Meikle, in 1999 and by his partner, Sabina Fry, in 2001. He is survived by his mother, (Beatrice) Leah Meikle, sister and brother-in-law Nadine and Marlin Gingrich, and his nephews Noel and Bryn Gingrich. Neil was looking forward to officially welcoming Noel's fiancée, Sarah Symmes, into the family on October 15th. He is fondly remembered by friends Rob and Lynn Douglas of Ottawa and Mary and Frank Randazzo of Toronto.
