Obituary of Edward Kuntz
Passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October 10, 2011, at age 91.
Beloved husband of the late Helen Kuntz; loved father of Lawrence (Karen) of Waterloo, Paul (Malcolm) of Toronto and Frank (Lisa) of Waterloo; loving grandfather of Michael (Julie), Melissa (Joe), Taylor and Matthew; great-grandfather of Hannah, Jacob, and Ethan; brother-in-law of Margaret Weaver and Eileen McManus, and dear uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sarah (Walter), a dear sister Florence Schikowski and her husband Peter, and members of Helen's family, Mary and Enos Cressman, Frances and Frank Phelan, James and Nora Herman, Willard Weaver and Charles McManus.
A Veteran, a farmer, and a contractor, Edward's life was dedicated to his family, faith community and business. He was Past-President of the Grand Valley Construction Association, the Acoustical Association of Ontario and was an active and founding member of St. Michael's RC Church. Edward will be fondly remembered by friends, neighbours and colleagues. His family loved him and will miss him.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, Robertson Brown Health Services, the Red Cross and especially Dr. S. Deen who made it possible for Edward to remain at home during his final days.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Edward with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's RC Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo (University at Hemlock) on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Cornelius J. O'Mahony as Celebrant. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo will be followed by a reception in the parish hall of the church.
