Obituary of Alene Matthews

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Parkwood Mennonite Home in Waterloo. Born near Claxton, Georgia on November 18, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Orphie and Julius Mixon. She was the loving wife of the late Wilbert E. Bosnell and the late Frank Matthews. Dear mother of Faye Carroll of Waterloo and Marilyn Elliott of London; fondly remembered by Paul Matthews of Elliot Lake, David Matthews of Ottawa and Stephen Matthews of Calgary; lovingly remembered by grandchildren Douglas, Russell and James Carroll and Leslie Elliott Brown along with 7 great grandchildren. Remembered by nieces Judith Harn, Jeanne Lamoureux, Glenda Freijo and nephews Larry Olds and Jesse Mixon. Predeceased by a son Franklin Donald Vaughan; sisters Jennie Peterson, Effie Gatlin, Verda Olds and brother Jesse Mixon. Friends will be received at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11a.m. Reception will follow the service and then a private family interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
