Obituary of Alexander Zweers

Alexander passed away, following complications from a stroke, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the age of 80. Predeceased by his beloved wife Emilia in 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Zweers and friend Eric Hanek, and by his beloved family in the Netherlands. Before retirement, Alexander was a Professor of Russian Literature at the University of Waterloo. According to Alexander's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's RC Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo (at University Ave.) on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the mass from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow the mass at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home's Fireside Reception Room.
