Obituary of Helen Whitehead
Passed away at Lanark Heights Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener of an age related illness, in her 95th year.
Born in Woodstock, Ontario where she attended school and excelled in all subjects as well as piano. She moved to London, Ontario and finished her education at Beal Commercial. In 1938, she met and married Alan Whitehead (2005) and raised three children. During the years 1942 - 1945, she worked at Crumlin Aircraft Manufacturing for the R.C.A.F. After the war, she moved to Chatham, Ontario and was a life member of I.O.D.E. and Kinette Club where she did volunteer work.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Heather (John) Trussler, Kitchener; son, Alan John (Lucille) Whitehead, Windsor; and daughter, Stephanie (Robert) Ingalls, Windsor. Grandmother of Bryan Trussler (Cynthia), Kitchener; Scott (Corrie) Ingalls, Calgary, AB; Shaun Ingalls (Naomi), Tofino, BC; Erin Charnock (Craig), Toronto; and Meighen Whitehead (Marchello), Toronto. Great-grandmother of Nolan, Arden and Flora Charnock, and Cohen Ingalls.
Predeceased by her parents, John A. McKiggan and Jessie May Solway; brother, Roderick; and sister, Mary Poole (McKiggan).
A private family service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S.,Waterloo. Entombment at Woodland Cemetery, London.
