Obituary of Pamela Blair
Pam passed away unexpectedly on her 84th birthday in Waterloo, Ontario. She immigrated to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1949 to marry her husband Tom who had preceded her to Canada from their hometown of Dundee, Scotland. Through Tom's work, she also lived in Olds, Medicine Hat, Westlock, Red Deer, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Kitchener, Scarborough, Weston, London, Mississauga, and finally Waterloo for the past 24 years.
Throughout her life she turned challenges into opportunities. She was determined, independent, and spunky. Always outgoing, she excelled at making good friends quickly as she moved across the country and was a loyal friend to many.
She was predeceased by Tom in 1995 and is survived by her daughters Margaret (John Dixon), Pam and Carrie; her grandchildren Laura Kiepal (Chris) and James van Dongen, Gary Rutherford; and her great grandson William van Dongen.
She stayed in her home with the support of her friends Dorothy Davison, Susan Moxey, Margot and Brian Fitzpatrick, Heather Cressman and caregivers from Home Instead. Pam will be missed by her loyal dog, Shelby.
According to her wishes, there will be no funeral. Instead a get together for family and friends will take place Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Waterloo Inn, 475 King Street N., Waterloo, N2J 2Z5 (519-884-0220). We hope that all of Pam's friends can drop by.
